I'm not sure if this really means anything. The line has always been sporatically popping on and off similar lists.
Still, I wouldn't be too surprised. They just haven't really delivered much in the past couple years they've had the license. Whatever happened to the Hanna-Barbara figures? Are the new ones still coming out? |

I haven't seen anything on the HB line in a while.
And I don't think this bodes well for The Simpsons line either. It's hard to launch a successful line when you can't even entice most hard-core fans like ourselves to buy everything available. Well, it was fun while it lasted.... |

I've picked up most of the releases... but the cost and lack of articulation is just too much in some cases. I am not surprised there aren't any 2008 plans.

Well, so far I only have the Ironic Punishment set, the Family Couch Gag set, and the Itchy & Scratchy Cape Feare "Spay Anything" set and I'm not really "in to" this line. (Which is why I've been collecting WoS figures on eBay).
Ok well for starters one of Homer's hands in the Couch Gag set fell out (not my fault) so I'm already soured towards the line. Not to mention the figures in wave 1 and 2 just don't excite me. I don't think I've ever seen "In the Belly of the Boss" and it's been a while since I've seen "Simple SImpson" if at all. "Kamp Krusty" is a fantastic episode, but not one of my favorites. The Homer and Bart strangling each other would've been better if it was just Homer (it's more iconic ).If they were from like my top favorite episodes (including "Homer's Enemy", "You Only Move Twice", "Cape Feare" and more) I'd have gotten more into the line. |

I think their biggest problem is they didn't ask fans their favorite moments. They just created them without the direct research Playmates was famous for. Granted McFarlane did some cool things, but stinkers such as Radioactive Man and FallOut Boy should have been scraped for something more collector friendly.

One thing to remember, even with all the input that Playmates had from the fans, it all came down to what Fox wanted for the line and that is where the buck stopped. So some of these "Fan Favoites" could just as well be labeled "Fox Favorites" since they have final say.
Just look at what happended to the last THOH that Playmates wanted to put out. They got our input, put together a great couple of ideas, but were pushed by Fox into the Manimals mode which they decided not to pursue. Now McF gets the line and 'lo and behold' the Manimals reappear. This is not a coincidence, although it is an awesome set IMHO. |

Honestly it really never had any zing. Most likely because people were probably Simpson figured out after Playmates amazingly long run.
It also had a very hard act to follow. |

Oh and BTW, as far as I know HB line stopped after series 2. That was a very nice line.

Quote: Amen. I was with PM's run til the end, but I was never even so much as tempted to pick up anything McF offered. Check that - I saw the Lard Lad set at a comic shop, and was impressed. But I still didn't buy it.. |

If you check your local FYE, Suncoast, or Sam Goody they usually have them at buy one get one 50% and they are usually marked down a few bucks already. That is
how I've been completing this set. I couldn't pay retail for these. Some of them I look at and think they could be amazing but there are just so many
better concepts that could have been made. Radioactive man and fall out boy was done with WOS I liked the treehouse of horror one in wave 2 mostly because I
love the Treehouse of Horror stuff so anything related to that is as good as gold to me.
