Woo-hoo! We've got an SCS contingency headed to the Big Apple Comic Con. East Coast represents!

I went today, and it was a fantastic geekfest! I had a great time wandering around. Not as crazy as NYCC, and I'm sure a lot tamer than SDCC, but it was still fun to see everyone dressed up. The most original costume, imo, was Green Lantern Alan Scott.

I checked out the action figures, too, but no one had the ones I was looking for. It seemed most vendors had only recent releases, including some still in stores. I'm not sure why anyone would pay extra for something they could still get at Target.

I also wandered through the celebrity autograph area. Mostly faded TV stars, wrestlers and Playboy models. I felt sad for some. Why actors like Loretta Swit and Kathy Najimy were there was beyond me. And Micky Dolenz is far beyond his prime. Melody Anderson sat quietly, working on a crossword puzzle. But some looked happy. Gil Gerard and Erin Gray were in booths next to each other, which helped boost their popularity. The best power couple were Adam West and Julie Newmar; they had a big crowd around them.
