I have friends who work at Marvel. They're just hoping this means they get healthcare.

I just can't imagine walking through Disneyland and seeing Spider-Man on Main Street doing photo ops and signatures. This seems really lame to me.

My first thought is that I hope that Disney doesn't take an active role in the content delivered by Marvel and try to make everything "family
friendly"....
Secondly, I wonder how this will impact Universals Studios-Islands of Adventure (with Marvel rides) & Disney World in Orlando...... |

My guess is that, as soon as those contracts expire, all of these attractions will be removed from Universal. Will they be moved to Disney parks? Not sure yet.
I'm sure they're still sorting all of that. But Disney is definitely working to get all the park attractions and movie rights and stuff like that over
to their company.
In terms of the comic books themselves, I imagine Disney will take a (mostly) hands-off approach. I think their real interest is in the higher-end stuff (movies and TV, maybe merchandising, etc). |

I think blueduck is right: Disney is not gonna mess with success. They just want a slice of the merchandising pie.
As far as theme parks go, after Marvel's contract with Universal Studios expires, I think Spider-Man and the others will find a home at Hollywood Studios, nestled in with Star Tours and the Indiana Jones stunt show. |
