Pfft. If you really wanted to go you would.

Damn
Can someone go to the Chuck panel for me? It's not like they're giving out anything, but I just wanted to hear what they have to say. Oh, is The Office coming back for a panel too? Having friends with 30th birthdays blow. |

Ken, those sound like fine activities. Definitely in for Tilted Kilt (my people!) and pizza (drooool).
Anyone who is interested, we'll be doing the IndyFans panel in 24A again this year. Saturday at 12:15 (right in the middle of the Mythbusters autograph session. Grr...) Right afterwards, I'm heading to the Mythbusters line in a futile attempt to get into their panel. Anyone else going to that who is willing to save a spot in line? I know that crowd is massive, and if not for my own panel, I'd probably spend the day in it. I will be carrying a bullwhip, so I may just be able to cut into the line myself. ;-) |

So I would highly recommend any and all SCS members going to Comic Con this year to attend the Simpsons meetup in 24A on Friday evening. I know it's been
more of a casual thing in the past, but a little birdie has informed me that a certain McDonalds-hating guest might show up to check it out and
talk to Simpsageeks.

As a reminder, it's the Friday of the Con and here is the info- 6:00-7:00 Simpsons Collectors Group- Simpsons collectors of the world unite! Take a break from the busy Comic-Con floor and get a chance to meet some of your fellow collectors of Simpsons merchandise. Collectors from all over the country will be here. Meet the other Simpsons collectors you see on the message board and put faces to the names. This gathering-put on by the staff of the SimpsonsCollectors.com website-is a great chance to network with other collectors from across the country and share your hobby with others. Room 24AI regret (again) that I won't be there this year, but I hope those who are attending will not miss this. Do me proud, folks! |

Thanks for the 411 Blueduck. Looking forward to seein' everyone esle around the CON even if it just got more expensive for me because my wife is out of
town and I have to hire a sitter for the kids. (that was quite a run-on sentence) Oh, well. That's the price you pay.
I am thinking of being daring this year and bringing my 3 and 4 year old to the CON on Sunday. Stand by for the mayhem that ensues.

The laundry-list of things keeping me away from this year's Con is even bigger than years past, and I won't bore with the details.
I'm a bit extra bummed because David Tennant is going to be there this year and I've recently gotten into the show Doctor Who. Oh yeah, and the fact that I won't get to see everyone; it's been about a year since the Universal Studios afternoon. |

So details on the SCS meeting... who got interviewed??

I didn't go. Dumb ass.
But if anyone has contact info for Sperlock (sp?), let him know that if he hasn't talked to the WOS product managers, I can hook him up. I tried to find him on Saturday, because both Linden and Trojan were on site and he could have chatted with them then, but he can still hook up at some point if he's interested. |

I wanted to take the time to extend a hearty Thank You to Robin and the rest of the CC staff. I thought this year's CON was awesome. Well organized (even
if we didn't get into Hall H to see Ironman because it was too close to the end of the Simpsons panel
Secondly, I must say how awesome the SCS meet up was. Even though there were really only 5 collectors there plus a couple of Sloppy Jimbo groupies, it was a blast. Not only did Sperlock extensively interview all of us that were there. MG showed up unexpectedly and sat down to chat w/us for a while about collecting. Definately an experience that will not be forgotten. Then as Matt was ready to leave he took some time to sign autographs for some of us. BEST SCS MEET UP EVER! Can't wait for CC 2010!

Not to make anyone who didn't go feel bad but I seriously think in my 20 years of attending that Thursday was the best day of Comic Con ... EVER!

This pretty much sums up how I feel about myself missing it right now.
Sounds like you all had a blast and that I'll live to regret missing this year. |

OK, after some discussions with my wife on exactly what I missed out on this year, and the fact that there has ALWAYS been something to prevent me from going
to Comic Con (for 7 years running I think), a deal has been brokered at home. The terms of the deal are now sealed records not to be disclosed, but as a result
I am able to formally annouce here, my intention to attend the San Diego Comic Con in July of 2010!
I'm sure it won't be as great as this year's, but I need to make it out there eventually so I'm taking the very next opportunity. |

Ketriana and I had a less than stellar Comic-Con this year. We arrived late, I missed out on most of the Mattel stuff I wanted, we didn't see any panels we
wanted, and forgot about the SCS meet-up on Friday. And naturally, this is the year that Matt Groening decided to show up.
Add thh fact the prices are increasing tremendously next year's con, and we might not go. Well, maybe one day. |

Yeah Hammie, I know what you mean. I paid $60 or $65 last year for the full con and this year it's $100. Thats a 66% increase. Thats just crazy. Since I
started going (many years ago) the price has more than quadrupled. But I did have fun. I'm hoping that "you get what you pay for" holds true in
this case.

To be honest, I had forgotten about preregistering, but Ketriana told me later about the $100 price tag. To say I had sticker shock is an understatement.
I get why CCI needs to do it, but dang. |

Ham, I'm sorry to hear you didn't find what you were looking for at the Mattel booth. I heard that the lines were horrendous and Mattel sold out of
Gleek, He-Ro and the MOTU book by Friday.
So come to the NYCC instead! OK, Mattel won't be there in 2010, but the lines are a lot shorter and weekend passes are only $60! |
