I'm sure that's true, but I'm not paying $400 a night for no hotel anywhere, anytime.

"Seems to me that there are more hotel rooms in SD than there are 4 day passes though. "
I'm sure that's true, but I'm not paying $400 a night for no hotel anywhere, anytime. |

Try this website:
www.sidestep.com I found that the Holiday Inn downtown had rooms for $212/night. And there were some hotels in Old Town (just north of down town) with rates of $145 and $178. Good Luck!

Ketriana and I both totally brain farted and forgot the hotels reservations went up today. I got in around 11am PST, and got a hotel about 5 miles away.
Sigh. |

Don't feel too bad. I got logged in to the website around 9:04 and ended up with a hotel 4 miles away.

The Saturday Comic Con passes are in the "red". I'd imagine they will sell out within the next week or so.

We expect them to be gone by Sunday, so if you're on the fence, get off already.
Edit: And they're gone. That was fast.

Pls move to Vegas next year. Tons of convention space(which Vegas is DYING to fill), and lots of cheap cheap cheap hotels. LOL awesome amazing places like
Palazzo and Venetian are cheaper than mediocre San Diego rooms.
Ooooh and gambooool. Only negative is having to see comic con attendees poolside.
It all depends on what the definition of "is" is.

Sounds like someone just went to Vegas! I'd be all for it because I love me some Vegas. But July would be murder in LV!

I'm curious if anyone would want to go to Disneyland or Universal Studios the Tuesday before Con?

i'd probably be down for universal. I'm not sure if I will be able to make comiccon though. especially because everything is selling out already and I
can't make plans with my terrible group of friends.

Hey everybody! First time going to the con and thought I'd ask you folks for some advice. Getting ready to book a cheap hotel, and I initially thought
Preview Night was on Thursday, but thought I better check and realized it's on Wednesday. So I wanted to ask if you guys thought Preview Night was worth
it. I mostly ask because we're going to a wedding out of town the weekend before and would like as much time as possible to recover, and of course
that's one last night to pay for the hotel.
So what say you, SCS? Is the Preview Night truly just a 'preview'? Or are there exclusive events there that we might not want to miss? Since we have the full 4-day pass with Preview Night, I hate to just waste any part of what the ticket includes...but if it's just a little sneak peak, it might not be that bad to skip. Jason -- You know, Captain, every year of my life I grow more and more convinced that the wisest and the best is to fix our attention on the good and the beautiful. If you just take the time to look at it. |

Preview Night is worth it. It's basically an extra day, albeit one that starts very late. Not 100% necessary, but extra bang for your buck.

Okay, since no one has broached the subject...or perhaps I missed it.
Do y'all not want a meeting room this year? |

Ooop, sorry... normally I'm on this, but I'm not attending this year, so I haven't checked this thread as often.
I say definitely book the room for the usual day and time. It seems that most of the usual crew will still be Con-ing it up. Thanks! |
