just look at south park they had the nitendo wii on it and the sony psp as well as a episode about world of warcraft half that episode featured actual world
of warcraft footage. i may be wrong but the most recent game consoles on the simpsons were the nitendo game cube and the playstation 1. south park has xbox
360 on it. so i think simpsons have gone with the times and they aren't as modern as south park and as appealing to teenagers and the young audience

So, let me see if I understand your reasoning here, neptune...
If a show doesn't reflect the current game consoles and/or their respective games on the market in some form, it's gotten "dated and old"? I'm going to have to agree with blueduck and go with "no" on this one. |

no i don't think so i have looked at south park and i like it but i would not say that just because simpsons has not shown newer video game consoles that
it has goten dated and old. i may be wrong but i think there are many other factors to consider besides video game consoles when determining whether a show has
goten dated and old. so i think that plenty of young people still enjoy the simpsons which is why it is still on the air after so many years even longer than
south park.

You also have to remember that one episode of the Simpsons takes anywhere from 9 months to one year to complete. South Park can turn out an episode in a
matter of weeks, which might make it appear they are more up to date. I was 18 when I first saw the Simpsons on the Tracey Ullman Show. I'm now 40 and
the Simpsons are still strong IMO. All their jokes might not appeal to iGen*, but this X'er still laughs out loud.

simpsons could still put a newer console in cause it takes 9 months to make a simpsons episode but it take a year or 2 before a new console comes out. they
havent even got a ps2 and thats been out for ages

Everyone knows that the sole purpose of a TV show is to feature references to current videogames.
I mean how would the Simpsons ever have taken off at its beginning without those endless Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis references?

I think I also have to go with "no" on this one. Just because a TV show doesn't feature the most innovative video game consoles or software,
doesn't mean that they are dated. Yes, the Simpsons did a spoof on WOW. If you've been watching the Simpsons for long enough, you will notice that the
show has, in recent years, started focusing on more current events, instead of just zany adventures. But so has South Park. In the beginning, it was just
crazy, and even offensive, situations. Now, it's almost nothing BUT current events. Honestly, I think you are comparing apples to oranges here. Both shows
are funny and popular. But they are also different from each other. Some people like Simpsons but don't like South Park and vice-verse. If you have a
better argument to make, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise, you're not convincing anyone.

Southpark is different in the way it presents it's comedy (lots of adult rated material), Just because they don't show the Xbox 360 or Wii
doesn't make it dated,
