On the other hand, I'm not much of a car collector either. (I've heard the horror stories about the "Hot Wheels Guys" that show up at TRU or Walmart at 7 am, rush the car aisle, and then move on to the action figure aisle for ebay fodder... but I digress) About a week ago I was strolling right by the Pixar Cars merchandise like any self respecting action figure would, and then that night, the wife & I saw the movie... WOW, am I hooked on these toys! Mattel really got these toys right! Walmart got all 4 of the "Movie Moment" 2-packs and I grabbed them up. Then I saw a posting on another board (where I go by the handle Tad Ghostal) that 12 of the character Cars were available in 2 6-packs (11 of which do not come in the Movie Moment packs). Tracked them to BJ's Wholesale club and scarfed up both sets (and I'm not even a member!) But what REALLY clinches the deal for me is the Radiator Springs playsets! My goodness, you can really bring the film to miniature life with these things! I lucked out finding Ramone's paint shop today (apparently it is short packed or something) and look forward to the crown jewel - Flo's V8 Cafe. MWC -if you're reading this, I hope to get a review or 2 out of you soon on this line! Anybody else collecting these?

I also generally have no interest at all in collecting cars, but these look great(and are pretty much the best type of collectible for these types of characters). The only one I've bought though is Filmore, because it's a hippy van and the character's voiced by George Carlin, what's not to like?

I'm just like you guys, I was mildly interested in them when they first hit, but try not to buy merchandise until I appreciate the property...so I waited until the movie, loved it, wanted all the cars, and they were mostly sold out everywhere. I did manage to find all the 2-packs at Wal-Mart, a lonely Lightning McQueen at another Wal-Mart and Mack at TRU. About 30 empty pegs sitting at Wal-Mart I keep expecting them to fill up again but nothing in the past week and a half. I read your posts at RTM about variants and new ones popping up on eBay, is there a list anywhere of everything thats out or any plans for future cars?

Honestly, if I didn't get the two 6-packs over the weekend, I think I'd be getting VERY frustrated this summer. I bought all 4 Movie Moment 2-packs on Thursday, so I was hooked. The post I saw Thursday night or Friday about the 6 packs on ebay got me a-Googlin' and that's how I found out they were at BJ's Wholesale (off some diecast car collectors' board - and most of the guys in the thread didn't sound too interested) I've only seen Mater on the pegs anywhere around Fairfield County CT. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the predictions of a glut sooner or later will come true. Not only am I Tad Ghostal everywhere else, but when this group started at the old site, I used the screenname Santos L. Halper, and now I see someone else using that handle.

In addition to the single and two-packs, there's a blue Mater in the Bowling playset (also packed in the BJ's six-pack), and a Willy's Butte McQueen (dirty) in the Mountain Challenge playset. I havne't seen any of the second wave of Cars, and really want that blue Dinoco McQueen. The box of the Piston Cup playset shows Nitroade and Leakless on the front of the package; I hear they're a part of the second wave. I need more Cars!! Ham Salad, Moderator, Simpsons Collector Sector

The day before the movie opened, I was at the Longs Drugs by my house and they had every one of these cars. Lizzie, Sarge...EVERY ONE OF THEM. I looked at each and thought I'd come back after I saw the movie and see which ones I'd like to get. The day after I saw the movie I came back and they were GONE. 1 Lightning (which I bought) and a few Maters left. It's not like I want a whole set, I just want a few (Filmore, Chick, King and the Luigi 3 pack)...and now it's driving me (no pun intended) crazy. My wife and I have been fruitlessly searching all over ever since. I refuse to support the ebay scalper machine...so I HOPE they're planning a second run of these...maybe around the time the DVD comes out?

I decided that I want them all now too. I tried 10 different stores today, and all I came up with was Mater, McQueen, and DJ. Anyone have advice on finding the rest of these? Or am I out of luck now? I really wish I would've bought a few of the other ones I saw when I bought Filmore. I'd really like to get Lizzie actually, but I haven't even seen her at all, even when I wasn't planning to buy these. I'm really frustrated about the case packs on these. I day I bought Filmore, I saw the case being opened. Not every car is in every case, and half of each case is nothing but McQueen(and 1/4 of each case is Mater). Also, who are in the Wal-Mart 2 packs and where can you buy them? I know the obvious answer is Wal-Mart , but I was in 3 different Wal-Marts today. Two of them had nothing at all, no single cars and definitely no two packs(or any pegs marked for them), and the third one was the same way, but they had Mack. EDIT: Also, where can you get Luigi? He's not in the individual cars as far as I can tell. I'd definitely like to get Luigi and Guido(and a lot of the other minor characters that Mattel apparently doesn't want anyone to own, but enough about that).

Because if they are, I think I'll probably have more luck checking there than I will at the usual places.

Haven't personally checked Rite-Aid or CVS, but probably will tommorrow, definitely worth a shot.

Looking forward to the Green Ramone!

There were 20 McQueens and no one else at one of the K-Marts I checked here. I'm on vacation next week, so I'm going to take one day to look for these and I'm hoping I'll have some luck then.

Now to get the other 8 singles I'm missing... and these new ones too I guess. In a way, I'm kind of happy these are tough to find. It's been a long time since I've had something to look for that was difficult, but not impossible. And honestly, with the ones I have, I'll only be really dissappointed if I can't find Lizzie, since I have all of my other favorite characters now.
