It's interesting that last season ended with a flash-forward cliffhanger... and pretty much most of this season dealt with bringing us full circle to that
same point. But man, what a great season it was.

I hadn't thought they were going to move the Island in time, but I think that's what happened. The video in the Orchid station implied that what we
were about to see was going to look like the rabbit disappeared and then reappeared - but it didn't go anywhere, just ahead in time. The Island just
disappeared.
So Ben goes poof, and ends up in Tunisia, in October of 2005 - anyone wonder if the Island suddenly reappeared at that date back where it was? It just jumped ahead for a bit? Not liking Locke being dead. Think that Jin could be alive. Sun is teaming with Widmore to find the Island. So, did anyone catch the fake ad for Octagon Global Recruiting - http://www.octagonglobalrecruiting.com/? (See you at Comicon!) Still not liking Locke being dead. Although it fits with the idea that Locke is like John the Baptist and Jack is the true messiah for the Island. Does the fact that Locke left the Island asking for Jack et al to return (and presumably specifically asked Kate to bring back Aaron), while Claire tells Kate specifically not to do that, and Locke ends up dead, all mean that Locke has a "falling out" with Jacob? I'm returning to my theory that maybe Charlotte is Annie (my first thought), or is Ben and Annie's daughter (although I prefer that Annie dies in childbirth, setting off Ben), or maybe is Annie's younger sister... but.... I think she is too old to be Ben's daughter with Annie, and too young to be Annie. I was wrong about the coffin - thought that would be Michael. Was wrong about moving the Island, thought they'd use the EM stuff to change the "doorway" not have it disappear. Was wrong that Oceanic was "in on it" in terms of the lie - that bugs me the most as I still think any basic medical test would show that Kate has never given birth. I only like the fake story/why are they healthy/Kate has a kid working if someone else was in on it... The spoiler had gotten out that it was Locke, but they also said that Ben tells Jack that they needed to resurrect him. I thought they wouldn't go that way, so figured they had a fake version of the scene - as it turns out I think they read "you have to bring him back" (to the Island) the wrong way... Great season, |

So... where does the story go from here? I assume we'll get to see how things got bad on the island after Jack & the rest left, while the other stuff
focuses on the attempts to get back to the island. It makes me wonder what Locke could've done to anger Jacob. After all, it's been made very clear
that you can only die if the island wants you to.
I doubt it'll ever be addressed in a way that will be satisfactory, but I'm still really curious as to what the smoke monster is, and why Alpert & the rest of the others don't age. Of course after tonight's big reveal of how you move the island, maybe it's best not to know. I did like the line about time traveling bunnies though. |

Charlotte is much too young to be Annie. She's not even 30 if you go by her BD.

I have thought for a long time that a major plot point would be Dharma returning to the Island. I'm guessing between Locke's comment that thinsg have
gone badly, the Octagon Recruiting site, and Sun's contacting Widmore, that by the time we return to the Island Dharma will be back that moving the Island
didn't work completely. So my guess -
Season 5 - set three or four years after the rescue - is about what has happened on the Island after the rescue (Dharma reclaiming it) and the O6 trying to get back, and why that leads to Locke's death, etc. Season 6 - The remaining Others, Losties and boat people all work together to take down Dharma, the replacement for Jacob is found, and the Island is ultimately protected or destroyed. I had come up with an idea that Ben spared Annie from the purge, they got together and Annie got pregnant - and that she likely died, which is what started Ben down the obsession he has with solving the pregnancy issue, and also why he adopted Alex as a surrogate for the duaghter he wanted. Now, it could be that somehow Charlotte is the daughter and Ben doesn't know she lived, or Charlotte was Annie's sister/relative and Ben had her safely off the Island at the time of the purge as part of an arrangement with Annie. One thing this might suggest - what if the impact of the gassing during the purge caused the problems with the pregnancies - so it didn't start til after the purge? So Charlotte could have been born on the Island, but Ben's actions directly led to the subsequent problems, including Annie? |

They filmed alternate endings-- I assume to keep the real one from leaking-- with Sawyer and Desmond in the coffin. |

Nice linkage.
It's a fascinating theory. It's more often than not backed up with examples from past episodes, which really helps its credibility.

Whoa... just whoa. That was an interesting season opener. I rather liked it.
It took off running, and it seemed to never stop. A great way to start the season, as I am feeling pretty excited to see what comes next.

Wow! Consider me hooked! I look forward to the rest of the season. By the way, there is a ton of juicy info about this season in the new TV Guide.

It feels like we're actually getting somewhere now. I don't know if they'll get everything explained by the time this show ends or not, but at the
very least all this time travel business is fun.

I am also really digging the time travel aspect of this season so far. I like knowing that anyone could pop back up.
I also like that Faraday is explaining that it's impossible to change what events happen...though clearly some are.

Yeah, one of the things in the TV Guide article is that they do change something in the past which has major effects.
Seeing Ethan and the old DHARMA people again would seem to suggest that we could be seeing any number of dead people again. If they go back to a time after the crash but before they were killed, in theory we could see Libby, Eko, Ana Lucia, Michael, Shannon and everyone else again. The only thing that bugged me was that the justification for the lie makes no sense. It made sense last season when Locke first suggested to Jack that they lie to protect everyone back on the island, but that was before there was talking of moving the island. In the episode we just saw, when Jack reiterates that they have to lie to protect everyone, Hurley correctly points out that the people don't need protecting from anyone, because the island isn't even there for people to find anymore. Jack's replies "You expect anyone to believe that?" Well maybe not, Jack, but whether people believe it or not does nothing to counteract Hurley's argument that there is no need to protect anyone from people who can't get to them to harm them in the first place.

I was glad to see Ana Lucia, I think I was the only fan who enjoyed the character.

I just wanted to ask those of you watching Lost (along with me) please stick around and watch the show that follows, "Life on Mars". I'd hate it
if my new favorite time travel show got canceled (Journeyman...we hardly knew ye)
