Wave 8 is hitting online retailers now. I got my variant Dr. Fate from BBTS this past week, and I noticed the EE had them in stock too. I just need to wait for
my preorde from CSC to become available.

I recently found out there is a Bane variant from way back when the line was still called DC Super Heroes. I picked on up on eBay for about $20.
I'm not sure how it bypassed my toy radar. I really wasn't into the line on Day 1. My first figure was Scarecrow (because of the awesome sculpt), but I skipped the rest of the Batman wave until the Superman wave came out and I realized that Mattel was serious. Anyway, the variant comes with Osito, the stuffed bear that came with the Camo Bane variant that was released later. It's all very "Malibu Stacy has a new hat," but if you're a completist, well, "she's got a new hat!" |

My comic book shop called today to say my order for Wave 8 was in. Yay!
I stopped by to pick it up after work. They had everything but Hawkgirl and Gentleman Ghost, which I thought was a little odd. The counter clerk told me that those two figures would come in the next shipment, but that's what they told me about the Big Barda variant, and that one never showed up. So I can wait for Barda to make an appearance at TRU or pick one up on eBay. Someone from the shop actually told me on the phone last week that each wave had only one variant, and for Wave 7, it was Booster Gold. He added that he only had my word for it that there even was a Barda variant. Yeesh! 
I don't think I'm going to order the next wave from this particular shop. Aside from the Barda problem, someone at the shop put price stickers on all the Wave 8 figures. Not a huge issue, but it just seems shortsighted to me. Anyway, Blueduck gave me the name of a better comic book shop in Midtown Manhattan, so I'll go there from now on. |

Sweet pictures!
My favorites are the parademons. The sculpts on those are really nice, especially the wing flaps on the red one. I also like how parts of Gentleman Ghost are phasing to clear. A transluscent Gentleman Ghost would have made a great variant. |

I'm getting closer to completing wave 7. I just found both Booster Golds in stock. I've still never seen Kid Flash or the Barda variant though.

For those who got Gentleman Ghost... what were your thoughts? Worth getting? Totally. One of the best figures in the line, IMO. Although the collar is a little high (to accommodate the top hat), the sculpt is great. And the white paint fades to clear plastic on the cape and legs, making him look more ethereal. |

According to ToyFare magazine, Power Girl and Joker are definitely part of Wave 10, which will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. Ugh.
And it looks like the Giants of Justice line has been revived with the Flash. A seller from Hong Kong recently sold one on eBay. Link. I've heard this will be an SDCC exclusive. |

I cannot believe it, but Ultraman and Alexander Luthor are sold out. I went to a yoga class at noon, thinking I could get them when I got back home, but I was
too late.
Was anyone else lucky enough to get them? Matty says it will get another shipment soon, so I guess I'll have to wait. Ugh.

Hey Al, was that Wave 2 with the Jason Rusch version of Firestorm? Mattel re-released the entire wave with the Firestorm variant. So that's some forward
movement at Target, right?
Also, Mattycollector.com confirmed that the next Giants of Justice will indeed be the Flash, and it will be an SDCC exclusive, but will also be available at TRU.com after the show.

I'm a little excited to get Beast Boy. It looks like we're getting quite a few of the Teen Titans. We already have Starfire, Cyborg and Kid Flash.
And Robin, but it was the Tim Drake version, and Dick Grayson was the original leader of the Titans. So maybe we'll eventually get the classic Dick Grayson
version of Robin. Ooh, and Raven! And Wonder Girl and Speedy and Aqualad! |
