In any case, looking at those packs from a typical kid/"Toys for Tots" perspective, it isn't hard to see why some aren't moving very well - two of the packs have 2 "girls" and 1 guy, and the characters aren't exactly well known.

So my Target has the 3-packs at $7.99, but haven't changed the tags, so you only know by doing a price check scan... so this seems like it might not move
product too much.

Still waiting for the latest wave to show up at Target, but I was able to order a Legion of Super Heroes set at MattyCollector.com.
I was a little concerned because it took about 10 minutes to logon, as the site was inundated with Masters of the Universe fans trying to get their latest figure. I understand the MOTU figures sell out pretty quickly. If you're a MOTU fan, good luck! |

On a somewhat related note, Target has the DC Crisis 3-packs on temporary markdown as well (from $16 down to $10).

The Target by me in Queens had only a Question 3-pack... so sad to see. C'mon Mattel and Target, get those new figures coming!

I finally won a JLU 10'' Justice Lord Batman on eBay! It was the most money I have ever spent on a toy, but it's a very hard figure to find because
it was never released in the United States. I've been looking for one for a couple of years.
It arrived today from Brazil. If you look closely, you can see the embossed Batman emblem on his chest that was painted over with the Justice Lord Batman emblem, which I'm guessing means Mattel didn't want to sculpt a new figure, which makes sense since the line was winding down at that point. |

Congrats on the purchase, Greg. I know how elusive that figure is. I got mine through an AFI board member, along with Hourman. I think I piad around $100 for
the pair.
Do you plan on opening him? |

Ham, that was a great deal. I paid $335 for Batman, including shipping and insurance. I think I picked up Hourman for around $60.
I wish I could open him, but I don't have any room to display him. When I moved to New York, I had to choose between displaying my toys and having a bed. And can I just say, it was a tough decision. So after putting all my loose Muppets and WOS figures into storage, I realized that it's much easier to store MIP figs than loose ones, so Bats will eventually go into a big plastic container with his boxed 10'' teammates. But not before spending a few days perched on my desk so I can gaze at him. BTW, how long ago did you join AFI? I tried to sign up a few weeks ago, but I never got a confirmation. Do you like it over there? I've visited some boards where the members always snipe at each other, which is why I keep coming back to SCS. We may have lost a lot of members since WOS died, but at least we're civil to the ones we have left. |

Greg, I came up with a NYC solution... display my toys, and have a futon instead of a bed. Not super classy, but it works.
BTW, I received my Legion set from MattyCollector.com today... what a quick turnaround! |

Greg: Ouch is all I have to say. (Though, perhaps I shouldn't, since I paid three times that much for JLU Hal Jordan.) I kind of feel bad, as I actually
have a second set of Justice Lord Batman and Hourman. I got them loose from Hong Kong just before I got my retail versions from Brazil. Had I realized you were
serious about getting them, I would have offered them to you. My bad. They are however, not in the best condition; they look like factory rejects.
I joined AFI back when it first launch, sometime in 2005 or 2006. I forget, really. I do enjoy the board for the most part, and Julius Marx and ToyOtter are good people. Some of the members tend to get snippy with each other, but I just ignore it for the most part. Sometimes it's just a matter of people being a bigger fanboy than the others. That reminds me, I need to email ToyOtter about something... |

Jeremy, I don't have the LOSH set yet (you lucky dog), but I did find Dr. Fate, John Stewart and Parasite at the Target in the Bronx. I was surprised to
see that they had sold out of Superwoman and Booster Gold. Either they were short-packed or some collector is putting them up on eBay as I type this.

Found the new singles (Booster Gold, etc) at the Target in Queens. Huzzah.

A look at an upcoming MattyCollector set of figures, via a Hong Kong seller...
This seller also has some other future stuff, including what looks like an accurate-scale Supergirl!! http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/toyslandco |

Nice! And it looks like we'll be getting more Secret Society members, like Dr. Polaris, Tala and Devil Ray. The villains will come in the six-packs again,
right?
But I think Mattel could have picked a better-known team than the Doom Patrol. The sculpts are great (check out the hands on Negative Man), but mattycollector.com is having a hard time getting rid of the Gotham City Criminals set. If they can't sell Scarecrow and Harley Quinn, how are they gonna sell Robot Man and Elasti-Girl? I think it would have made more sense to have a Batman set (Robin, Nightwing, Alfred and Catwoman), a Teen Titans set (Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy), or Superman's enemies (Metallo, Mongul, Cyborg Superman and General Zod) or even Superman's friends (Lois, Jimmy, Clark and Perry). IMO, Mattel needs to generate more excitement in the line with characters that are more popular for casual collectors. I'm a die hard, and I'm gonna get everything they put out, but not every collector feels the same way. |

I assume Mattel's thinking is that the MattyCollector sets are only going to be bought by hardcore fans (who already have Scarecrows and Harleys in their
collection... hence low sales?)-- casual fans won't be checking that site for exclusives, or even care-- so that's where they'll put out obscure
sets and fan favorites.
The retail (Target) portion of the line will continue to have endless Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman repaints and repacks. Which makes sense to me, honestly. PS- Yes, it's my understanding that Dr. Polaris, Tala and Devil Ray will all be in this Fall's villains 6-pack. |

That makes sense; most collectors would already have Harley and Bane, at least, from the BTAS line. I just thought they could have picked a set that was a little more relevant than the Doom Patrol. But we got LOSH and we are getting Shazam, so I'm happy with that.
On another note, new packaging for Green Lantern! Link

So I read earlier this week that some Targets are starting to get the much-delayed 3-packs (Batman Beyond, etc) and I so I went to Target this morning to try
my luck. As I approached the action figure aisle, I noticed a fully, newly-stocked JLU 3-pack rack! I got there and I see... the Question, Captain Atom,
Galatea 3-packs. Again. Wow.
Look, I go out of my way not to sound like those snarky online toy collectors... but, WTF Mattel? Just ship the new product to Target already. |

Damn. That sucks.
My closest Target is down to three 3-packs. I am hopeful that their restock will be the new stuff. If that happens, I'll try and snag some for both you guys, Jeremy and Greg. |

Much appreciated! And good luck! The Target distribution definitely seems to run out of steam the furthest east it gets...

No sign of the new 3-packs at Target here, though they did get the new singles. I picked up Sinestro.
