I think Lego Rock Band is the most insane idea I've heard today. But you know what, I don't care. It has Final Countdown, so it's a must buy even
if the rest of the songs are awful.

I agree it's insane, but who cares.
I'd pay $60 for The Final Countdown too. Song 2 and Kung Fu FIghting also happen to be on my most-wanted list, so yeah, it's a must buy. So is Guitar Hero Smash Hits, if only for Free Bird. Although it is also a pretty sweet setlist (minus the expected return of Raining Blood). |

All I have to say is wow. Just..wow.
As much as I love Lego's and I enjoy rock band I'm so not sure what to think. Some levels I'm giddy, others I'm just astonished. I'm sure when I say something during lunch at work tomorrow people are just going to stare at me. |

I'm not too thrilled with the GH2 selections. I feel they could've done a lot better.

There will also be full album DLC for The Beatles Rock Band (Abbey Road first). It looks (and sounds) really good.

Today actually, although the set list is terrible and for some reason they're only selling the game bunled with the guitar grip. If I could buy the game
alone(like the second one), or if the setlist wasn't the worst ever, I would get it. As it is, I'm not paying $50 for it.
I'm still undecided about whether or not to get Guitar Hero Smash Hits next week or not. There are too many of these games this year, and that's coming from someone who loves them and downloads new songs to Rock Band every week. I have to get Guitar Hero 5, Beatles Rock Band, and Lego Rock Band for sure. |

Yeah, there really is too much this year. I didn't get Metallica, I'm waiting for it to hit $20 then I'll get it.
However, I must say, the Iron Maiden 12 pack that came out yesterday for RB is AWESOME on the guitar. |

Yes the Iron Maiden stuff is great. Even with knowing that 2 Minutes Til Midnight is in Guitar Hero 5, I just had to get it anyway instead of waiting until
September.

Yeah, definitely too much to buy this year.
I'm only planning on getting The Beatles, but I may pick up Guitar Hero: Smash Hits and Guitar Hero 5. I'm still on the fence about those two. I have no interest in Metallica or Van Halen, and I've dropped the DS versions after the lackluster first game. Ketriana is going to pick up Rock Band Unplugged, though. |

Huh. I forgot about LEGO Rock Band, and I've already got that preordered.
On the topic of Iron Maiden, I picked up three tracks on Tuesday: Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills and The Trooper. All three of them are crazy hard on expert, and I love it. |

It will be interresting to see how well Beatles Rock Band sells. Securing the rights to the music wasn't cheap, the price is going to be crazy high.
I think I'm gonna get Rock Band unplugged for the PSP. I'm going to wait for the download version to come out though. That's the type of game that works best always on your memory card. I've played teh demo and it rocks. |

Ok, so I couldn't resist getting a free $20 gift card with the game from TRU, so I had to get Guitar Hero Smash Hits today(got Ghostbusters too... again,
couldn't resist buying a game I know I want at some point and getting the $20 card with it).
Anyway, I'm very happy with it. GH:SH has the same greatly improved interface from Guitar Hero: Metallica. The career mode is basically back to the way it was in GH3, which is exactly the way I like it(still don't really understand Rock Band's tour mode or whatever... I pretty much only ever do quickplay there). All of the songs are new charts too, updated with all the new stuff introduced in World Tour. In some cases this will take some getting used too, but for the most part it's fine. A few songs I knew pretty well, like the ones from GH3, were really throwing me off with the new charts, but I can't really say if they're better or worse than before. Even with the purple "strumless" notes added in some sections, Through the Fire & Flames is still too hard for me. 
I have to say, the only complaint I have would be about song choices. And even then, it's not that what's here is bad, what's here is actually great for the most part. It's more that there are a bunch more songs that I'd really like to play that aren't on here, particularly from GH Rocks the 80s but all of them have songs I wish were in this one. I can only assume those are being saved for future Smash Hits compilations, at least I hope so anyway because there are some obvious omissions here. |
