Just a reminder, there are two free Bruce Springsteen songs available for this week only as GH WT DLC(they'll still be there later, but they won't be
free after this week). I've been trying to avoid the GH DLC, only because Rock Band has much more of a selection and better DLC overall, but I won't
argue with free.

!#@@ yeah!!! Two songs I requested several times at rockband.com are coming next week as DLC: The Boys Are Back In Town and Jailbreak from Thin Lizzy. Too bad
they're live versions, but I don't care, those songs are too awesome.
EDIT: dathrill, what kind of DLC do you have? I got my LIVE Gold card in teh mail yesterday so I should be good to go. |

don't really by too much DLC...some of the free ones, did by STP "Interstate Love Song" for RB2. LOVE that song. can 5-star it on hard....not on
expert yet.

So I just bought Rock Band 2.
I borrowed Rock Band 1 and uploaded 55 songs. I downloaded 20 free download songs with the code. I downloaded 4-5 other free songs that are on the Playstation Network. (Including a Stephen Colbert song) Having never played Rock Band 1, I have a new music game with tons of "new" songs, and I am loving it. I like the drums, though they can be challenging. Anyone know of any other "free" ways to get songs? I may end up buying "Under the Bridge," but I can hold out for a bit since i have a lot left to unlock.

I think you can get a free song for buying Energizer batteries (your choice too I think). There are so many good DLC songs now it's be hard to pick just
one.

Yay for jmurray3 getting Rock Band! Boo that it's on the PS3!
The Energizer promotion is with their high-end (lithium?) batteries, so it might not be worth it to buy for a free download For other "free" songs, you could try finding someone with the AC/DC Track Pack or RB Track Pack Vol 2. Those both come with a one-time use code to download the songs for use in RB/RB2. The catch is finding someone with the game who doesn't plan on ever using the codes. |

Just about +#%$ my pants when I was James Brown was coming next week to Rock Band. Git on up! That and Earth Wind & Fire make me very very happy. And this
one week after Losing My Religion and two after Texas Flood. This has been a great month (and Pearl Jam - Ten is next week) for Rock Band.

I picked up the James Brown track today. Fun, if a bit repetitive on guitar.
I then surprised myself by beating Snow ((Hey Oh)) on expert guitar.

Guitar Hero: Metallica = pure awsome. I'm not just saying this since I'm a huge Metallica freak (7 times in concert!) but it's just awsome. The
song selection is great and all the extras and the like are good. It's just a really well put together game in my opinion. I wish Aerosmith had been like
this. That game was kinda crappy. Terrible song selections and just not as interesting.

Yeah, I basically only play Rock Band any more because the DLC keeps me away from Guitar Hero, but I'm impressed with GH Metallica quite a bit. It's
not as difficult as I would've imagined either, I can play about half the songs on this game easily on expert. Of course, there are some challenging songs
as well, and Master of Puppets gives me trouble even on hard.
You can really see how the game has gotten easier over the years. All of the hardest parts on One are tappable in this game, making that song much easier than it was in GH3. |

I haven't gotten GH:M yet, and wont' until it's $20. I don't really care for the songs.

When this music game bubble crashes, its going to crash hard. My local Bestbuy already has a "Music game" section. Their's going to be alot of
expensive packages taking up a lot of space one day soon.
