Well, we got an answer for one question tonight at least- now we know why Alpert visited Locke as a child, and wanted him to choose the compass as an item that
was already his.
And I guess that creepy lady that visited Desmond in his earlier time travel episode, and talked to Ben last week, is Faraday's mother... that should be an interesting meeting once Des manages to track her down.
