It seems there is still alot of activity for figures on ebay, but none of the forums seem to be very active, what going on? i missed the figures being for sale
in stores, now i am stuck buying all my figures via ebay
It seems that the heyday for these figures was 4 or more years ago, is this causing the loss of interest in WOS?
I think the biggest loss in interest on here is a lot of the members have everyone of them. I'm glad though that there are a couple of people lately that
have started to collect them. I''ve for like 4-6, but about to try to get all the singles before Christmas.
honestly, I sold my complete set a couple years ago....needed the cash and with the change in jobs I lost my display place (had them in my office, yes, every
one!)
I miss them. they were fun, and a great conversation piece.....
I don't remember the last time I post here. I still have the whole line... mostly in boxes in the closet. The wife and I bought the tall glass door
bookshelves from Ikea, but I have yet to install all of them in the office. I just lost interest because of more pressing obligations. I could take pictures
and post them, if I wanted to depress myself with the unfinished project.
With no new figures, there are less collectors, less collectors has a smaller activity here, less activity here has even less people checking here, and so on,
and so on.
I used to be here 2-3 times a day. Now it's more like every 2-3 months.
My collection are still in boxes (and have been since my 5 year old daughter was born, and I gave up that room for myself) I still have a grand illusion of a
(small) basement room, and when/if that heppens, The open ones will once again see the light of day.

I too missed them when they were in stores, I was just 16 years old 9 years ago when they came out and I was not nearly the fan of the show I am now nor did I
have the funds to finance collecting. You can't fully appreciate The Simpsons until you are older, so that offset my fandom and collecting for a few years.
But I'm making up for lost time and I'm very close to a MIB/MOC WOS collection, not to mention tons of other awesome collectibles or
"Simpsacrap" LOL. Eventually I will get pictures of my collection online also so people can enjoy it as much as I do, I have quite a few rare pieces
now, stuff you don't see everyday, and those are the pieces that are so enjoyable and keep me a collector.
I haven't posted in probably a year or so...but I was around when this forum pretty much started...I like others was fortunate enough to get these as they
were coming out. I have a complete collection minus GITD Homer...i've never bothered to pick one up yet.
To be honest, the only time I think of these figures lately is when they need dusting...and then I am not that crazy about them!
Back in the day this board was an amazing place to be, there were tons of posts a day...it saved me a lot of time and money.
Last night I was looking back at old posts by a Simpsons Toy Designer and missing the glory days of this line. It would be great if Playmates got the license
again. The McFarlane stuff never caught on. Depsite WOS being a "collector" line and not something most of us actively playved with, it was nice that
the figures were posable and had accesories. Something McFarlane lacked.
There is a new Dora the Explorer house out at TRU that shows what could have been done to create a similar Simpsons house. The picture at this link does not do
it justice as the walls flip around to basically turn the house inside out and expose all the rooms. Imagine the SImpson bedrooms upstairs, and a crawlspace in
the attic for Hugo and assorted junk. Downstairs could be family room, living room, kitchen, and dining room, with a hallway and garage. http://www.toysrus.com/pr...dex.jsp?productId=3006690 Here is a better link with more photos
of the Dora house. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015KSL4G
You're right. Something similar to that Dora doll house would be a cool set up for a Simpsons themed residence. With a little creativity and ingenuity
someone could make one out of the existing Playmates' environments. Cheers for the links, mr Articulate.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would be great if Playmates got the license back and produced those figures that had been announced but never happened -
Maude Flanders, Akira, etc. I have a ridiculously large toy collection, but the WoS line is still far and away my favorite.
I'm also from a few years ago. Having every figure and the lack of something new caused me to post here less and less. I really wish there was a more
consistent supply of custom figures. I'm always interested in adding new customs, but i never seem to see that many.
This was one heckuva fun board back in the day. It was an exciting time.
About 6 months after the line ended I took down my massive display of the whole collection, then earlier this year when moving they ALL came down and went into
storage. If I ever get my spare room to where it's actually a room as opposed to a warehouse, I plan on putting at least the figures back up.
An amazing figure line, and watching the dvds again makes me want to get them out of storage.
A store in my local mall (the famous Monroeville Mall from the original Dawn of the Dead, and now seen in Zack & Miri) has I'd say about 75% of the
line MOC for around $7 average. They even have the earlier figures in the Bandai packaging (which I believe don't have the voice chips) for around
$10-$15. They have a lot of the playsets too, some exclusives, and they even had piles and piles of the mail-aways for awhile.
Yea I started when I was like 11. I just liked the simpsons and bought the occasional figure. Of course bart was my first purchase. I nearly have a complete
set. I only need nelson, Town Square, and GITDH. I really do wish they would revamp this series. I mean there really is nothing else like it out there. I
don't know of any series with the figures and parts and just sayings that the simpsons line had. I liked the McFarlane figures they were very cool designs
but it just wasn't the same. I still collected all that I could find.
I am so glad i started my WOS collection when they first came out,i have one complete set of everything loose and one complete set still MOC,MIB. I used to
have multibles of complete sets but had to sell them becouse i just had to make room,my home was just filled.Sometimes i have come close to selling my last set
becouse of the need for cash, but i have held on to my last complete set,im glad i have becouse it was alot of fun collecting them.

these were actually pretty cool toys. i remember contimplating buying some several times when i was younger, but i was never sure what i would do with them as
i was a teen and the coolness of having a collection, not just fooling around with things was still beyuond my comprhension. id like to ebay it and get a few
of my fav characthers just to stand up around the house. a comic book guy by the computer, a barney infront of the liqour cabinet. it'd be a nice touch. im
not gunna even start buying a couple here and there though because i know it'd lead to me tryting to buy them all and spending a lot of money.
