I was surprised when I went to Amoktime.com to buy series 2 of Futurama, thanks for that tip BTW, that they had the Turtles in stock. Somehow they snuck in
under my radar, haven't heard any reports of them arriving already. SO I quickly snatched them up, and hopefully early next week I'll have a sweet set
of mutant turtles on my desk.

Amoktime only has the boxset in stock though, which doesn't have all the accessories(specifically, it doesn't include the connecting bases), so I'm
waiting for the individual ones instead.

I saw the boxed set at my LCBS today...and it's FANTASTIC. I passed in favor of waiting for the carded versions ( i want me some mutgen and baby turtles,
thankyouerymuch) but man...these look every bit as good as all of the promo shots we saw. They're things of beauty. Apparently I hear the carded versions
are shipping now too...hopefully shops will have them this coming week. I have to grab this entire set...they're too good to pass up, and in scale with
Marvel Legends!

Okay...ordered the REAL set of four from BigBadToyStore yesterday. And that order will likely get here before AmokTime's, holy moly...they must use pack
mules. So I'm excited.

My set of four arrived from BBTS today, I was tortured by the boxset sitting unopened for a couple days, and wow...wow. Wow. They're just completely
perfect. I think even putting aside the newness and geeking out over them, I can still say they're some of the best action figures I own. The sculpts, the
paint, the construction, the accessories, the articulation...10's all around. I love the small considerations like, that Mikey can hold his nunchucks..um,
unholstered? together?...in one hand, that he has slightly longer fingers so he can do that..or that Raph can hold his sais with the blade between his fingers,
little touches like that really make these so fun. The articulation is terrific, great range of motion in the limbs, cool double neck joints, they've got
soft shells that make posing the legs no problem, and they even have a waist joint so they can turn to their side, you can get so much personality out of them.
This definitely isn't the case of a lot of NECA's figures where the articulation is there but there's still only one good pose...nope, these guys
look great standing with weapons ready, standing relaxed, in fighting position, running...it's some of the most impressive sculpt-articulation teamwork
I've ever seen.
And the aspects that we could judge from pictures-sculpts and paint, are like BS said, just as good as in the promo shots. They look like they stepped out of the comic, they perfectly achieved that effect. All the paint application is very clean...the only slight problem in my set was that Mikey's knee pad stuck a bit to his lower leg and left a little chip, but hopefully it can be fixed easily. NECA's given me some of my dream figures-well articulated TMNT...and they met and exceeded my wishes. Can't wait to buy more. I just ordered a set myself. I had to look a bunch of places to find one that had the carded version of all 4 in stock, but I finally ordered from Tough Nerd Toys, which not only had them in stock, but for a bit cheaper than other places.

Thanks for mentioning them beerbaron. I just ordered a set from Tough Nerd Toys myself(along with Futurama series 2 which I still haven't seen).
The individual TMNT figures are on Diamond's shipping list for this week too, so any comic shops that ordered through Diamond should have them on wednesday. I wasn't willing to wait and hope that one of the stores here ordered these- I learned my lesson from the Castlevania figures(which I also still haven't seen, and are sold out pretty much everywhere online as well), and I really don't want to miss these figures. |

And now I got my set today. There's nothing I can really add; these are near perfect. I'm particularly impressed by the articulation, both because it
doesn't hurt the sculpt at all and because I literally can't think of any other articulation I would want these guys to have. You can literally pose
these any way that you want.
The only thing I can say is that I want more. We already know more are on the way, at least a set of Black & White Turtles, April, and a Foot Ninja. But I hope these can go on for at least a little while, so we can at least get Casey, Splinter & Shredder. Of course I have a big list of characters I'd happily buy beyond that as well(how about a huge, properly in scale Leatherhead? or some Utroms, I'd buy at least 2-3 if they made a generic Utrom with the robot body), but those are the big ones. |

I may have misinterpreted something, but I thought I remembered hearing about some trouble with doing Splinter for some reason...possibly some trouble with it
being an Eastman design? But...the point I wanted to get to, I'd like to see a list of all the figures that we could possibly see. The characters that are
all cleared legally. If we could just get Splinter, Shredder, and Casey I'd be a mighty happy Turtle fan though.
I'd really love to see other Turtle interpretations sometime, like Image styled turtles. Jason -- You know, Captain, every year of my life I grow more and more convinced that the wisest and the best is to fix our attention on the good and the beautiful. If you just take the time to look at it. |

I hadn't heard anything like that before. I can't imagine that would make much sense either, since Eastman sold all of his TMNT rights to Laird. In
fact, as I noticed when looking for more information about Splinter over at Murphy's blog, the-5th-turtle.blogspot.com, the sale was finally completed
earlier this year. Plus, I can't imagine Kevin Eastman not allowing them to use his designs for these figures, assuming he even has a say in the matter any
more.
I'd be all for other versions of the Turtles as well. Actually one of the rumors I've read(that I have no idea how accurate it may be) is that NECA is planning turtles based on Eastman's art(which was a little later than the ones we have now, and which are much closer to the currently accepted look for the turtles). |

Personally, I think Splinter is a "must" more than April, so I wonder why they passed him over. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're
making April, but I'd even put Shredder above April.

There's an SDCC exclusive for TMNT from NECA- a Mouser 3 pack.

Something interesting I just read about the TMNT license that NECA holds:
The NECA license is incredibly broad. It includes all iterations of So officially, I guess they can do whatever they want. I personally hope they stick to the comics. Looks like for the moment, all that are officially coming are the B&W Turtles, then April, and then a Foot Ninja. I'm sure that won't be the end of it though, especially with the TMNTs 25th anniversary coming up next year. |

Wow, then I really wish NECA would step up their game a bit! Not a 'peep' about future series? No word on April's release? Coooooomme on NECA. And
in an interview with the Four Horsemen a couple weeks back, they said they've done no further work on the TMNT line, NECA, make sure you get the 4H working
on this project ASAP...they're integral.
This is exciting news to hear, we've talked about wanting to see other artist's interpretations of the Turtles, heck...I'd even be interested in seeing an Archie Comics series of turtles with the great articulation, sculpt, and paint that we've seen so far. Looks like things have changed since those comments were made... Murphy just posted a picture of the Foot Ninja prototype on his blog: http://the-5th-turtle.blogspot.com/
The best part, aside from that figure looking awesome and being the kind you need multiples of, is that he says NECA will be showing off "several other upcoming TMNT figures" at SDCC. |

That ninja looks awesome! Here's hoping Shredder, Splinter, Casey Jones, a Triceraton and the Fugitoid also show up at SDCC!
